Babolat Padel World Cup Beginner Eligibility: The 0–3 Level Explained
Beginners can enter the 2026 Babolat Padel World Cup. Check its Playtomic level bands, valid-match rules, key dates and route to the final.

Yes. Beginners can enter the 2026 Babolat Padel World Cup. The published rules say the competition is open regardless of Playtomic level. Players at level 3 or below enter the Viper Soft category; players above 3 enter Viper (competition rules).
Registration is free and individual. You need a Playtomic account, but you do not need a regular partner or previous tournament experience.
Beginner eligibility at a glance
- Playtomic level 3 or below: Viper Soft
- Playtomic level above 3: Viper
- Digital league: 21 September–1 November 2026, inclusive
- Entry fee: Free
- Partner needed at registration: No
- Participating countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom
The dates and level bands come from the published competition rules, while Playtomic’s official event hub links to the eight country campaigns. The UK campaign page lists 30 October 2026 as its registration deadline; check your own country page before relying on that date.
The rules do not state a minimum age. That silence should not be treated as confirmation that an unaccompanied minor can enter or travel. A player under 18 should ask the organiser about age, consent and safeguarding requirements before registering.
You may enter only one country’s league. The rules do not specify a nationality requirement, but finalists receive covered travel only from and back to the country in which they competed. A finalist who does not reside there is responsible for their own travel to Mallorca.
Your category is fixed on 19 October
Your category can follow your displayed Playtomic level during the opening weeks. On 19 October, every player’s category is locked for qualification (competition rules).
The dividing line is exact:
A displayed level of 3.00 belongs in Viper Soft. Any level above 3 belongs in Viper.
If your level is near 3, check it before the lock date rather than assuming the category shown when you registered will remain your category.
What a beginner must do for a match to count
This is a digital league, not a conventional weekend knockout. You collect ranking points through eligible matches organised in Playtomic.
For a match to count, it must:
- Be an Open Match or player-made court booking in the Playtomic app.
- Take place at a Playtomic-affiliated club.
- Be marked competitive, not friendly.
- Be doubles, with four players who each have a Playtomic profile.
- Last at least one hour.
A match created and published by a club does not count. Neither does singles or a casual match arranged outside Playtomic. The other three players need Playtomic profiles, but they do not have to be registered for the World Cup themselves (competition rules).
For example, suppose you are rated 1.8 and join a valid competitive Open Match. Playing it earns 200 points. Uploading a validated result adds 25 points, and winning adds another 100. The scoring is cumulative, with further bonuses available for such things as playing at a new club or with different players. The UK competition page publishes the same points table.
This means eligibility and qualification are different questions. A beginner is allowed to enter, but the ranking rewards activity as well as winning. The highest-ranked player in each category and country qualifies for the final.
Do you need a partner for the final?
Not when you register. League matches can involve different partners and opponents.
A category winner must later choose a final partner who:
- entered the digital league in the same country;
- is in the same category when the league phase ends; and
- played at least five league matches.
Both must confirm attendance within 48 hours of notification. The final itself is on 21 November at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, during the event weekend of 20–22 November (competition rules).
If competitive scoring, serves or wall rebounds are still unfamiliar, review the core padel rules before marking a match competitive. The first-session guide can also help you practise the basic court habits first.
A genuine beginner can therefore register. The practical checks are simple: confirm your country campaign, note your Playtomic level on 19 October, and make sure every ranking match satisfies the app and competition requirements.
